Description of Midnight EA

Hi Dominik,

just a quick question.. I’ve got quite a few trades which have been open for some days now (all losing) and some of them are over -90 pips drawdown.. is that normal? I’m asking this since I read in the description that usually trades are closed within the morning and hidden sl is between 30-45 pips, so I’m wondering wether the ea is working well or there are some issues ?

No, it wasn’t normal. It was problem with MT4, EA or just AutoTrading turned off.

well it just keep happening everyday, trades are opened every night but then not all of them got closed by the morning and they keep adding up more and more everyday.. i dont think there is a mt4 problem in particular as i have restarted it few times and there are no errors in the log files and of course autotrading is on and always has been. at the moment for example i got old trades running since the 15th february,
my broker is 4 digits, don’t know if this can be the cause.. do you have any suggestions ?

It’s weird. Midnight was tested on 4-digit brokers and everything was ok. I’m monitoring Midnight on many accounts and many people also are sending me results from Midnight. Everytime it’s ok. Did you look at Journal and Expert tab before restarting MT4, but after orders opening and at the time that all orders should be already closed? It’s the most important to check if there are any errors or information few hours after opening trades without closing MT4. What broker and account do you use?

I am getting some trades not close also (eurchf) attached, I am running on a VPS that has a great connection. I am with FXCM with AUD as the base currency with fixed 0.01 lots on all standard 16 pairs. https://www.fxcm.com/uk/assets/media/pdf/MT4_FAQ.pdf mentions FXCM uses 5 decimal places on most pairs and 3 decimal places on the JPY pairs which might be the issue? Are the fees ok compared to Darwinex for this type of EA? I ran it over the weekend to get a idea of the fees. I tired your broker Darwinex but they couldn’t handle my transfer the first time due to the strict money laundering laws.

Here’s what the EA did so far. Happy customer !

The magic of these result is that I put the “spread to trade” to 35 !!!
XM broker with an account of 50€+XM Bonus that give 75€

I’ll prepare the latest beta-version of Midnight, which will be available here until the time of its publication on MQL.
I sent Midnight over 1 week ago to MQL and we’re still waiting. I even made another improvements, but I can’t disturb process of first update 😡

You know what is the most important for me? I’d like to give you version with all these improvements right now and I’ll do it, because current situation is not right.
I’ll try to publish new beta-version today, so all my friends/clients/customers can have it, optimize it and test it.

That’s cool from your and I do not understand why mql wants to check the code? Just tell the broker “Be careful, this EA will kill you.”

Anyway, you have our email, send it this way, that’s it. Simple as that.

I’ve tried different brokers (demo accounts) such as fxpro, fort fs, forex4you and roboforex both 4 and 5 digits accounts and now I can confirm the EA behaves differently… on the 5 digits it closes all trades by the morning with an average profit between 1 and 2 pips while on the 4 digits it closes just some of the trades on the same day while the majority stay open for days with an average profit between 10 and 20 pips.. please have a look yourself and see if you can replicate this situation, to me it happens with all the brokers i tried..
